Perlane® is a facial filler that adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct
moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from
your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). It is also
used to contour cheeks, restore volume to the temple area, define the
jawline and rejuvenate hands.
Like Restylane®, Perlane® is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid (a substance found in our own bodies) that is specifically formulated to add volume, but the particle size is larger, thus helping volumize thicker folds and wrinkles.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does Perlane®
As we age, our skin cells lose the ability to produce hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in our skin, therefore, wrinkles and folds develop. Perlane® is composed of hyaluronic acid, therefore restoring the hyaluronic acid that has been lost by your skin. Perlane® is injected into the skin with an ultra-fine needle. It plumps the skin to smooth away wrinkles and folds.
How long does
One of the great advantages of Perlane® is that the effects are long lasting, but not permanent. You are always in control of your looks. Generally, results last up to 6 months or more.
Duration depends on many factors, such as skin type, lifestyle, age, and the degree of perfection demanded by the patient.
Do the injections hurt?
Perlane® is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultrafine needle. To help maximize your comfort, topical anesthesia is used.
